How do I force quit Preview app on my Mac?

When I open a document or a photo on my Mac it opens in Preview App, but after closing the window the application does not quit. I am using OS version: 15.3.1 (24D70)

Preview doesn't close when you close the documents. You can quit in the following ways:

With the Preview menu bar still showing hit cmd-q or click on "Preview" and hit Quit Preview

Right-click on Preview in the dock and hit Quit

cmd-option-esc then select Preview and force quit.

As of Tuesday March 11 there is an update available which is suggested to be installed

Version 15.3.2 of Sequoia

About the security content of macOS Sequoia 15.3.2

Always make a Time Machine Backup  before doing any upDates

It maybe the only way back if something should go awry

This doesn't answer the OP's question which is not a problem related to the version of OS.
