iTunes Match not Syncing on iPad or iPhone 16 Pro

I’ve just taken out an iTunes Match subscription and have added a few albums to an empty library on a Windows PC, which came back saying that the albums were uploaded.

neither of my iOS devices are showing any of the iTunes Match albums at all.

I tried adding a bit more but am still not seeing anything beyond the usual U2 album.

Same account on all devices

Subscription is showing in Account settings on the iOS devices

iCloud Sync Music setting is on

Have tried removing the Music app and reinstalling on the iPad

Have tried rebooting the phone.

Any ideas what’s going on here? This just seems to not work!

iPhone 16 Pro, iOS 18

I FIXED IT!

In the Profile screen under the person icon in the Music app, under (I think) account settings there is an option to “Remove Device”

Some mixture of the following fixed both my devices:

  • Makes sure Music is turned on on iCloud sync
  • Go to the music app - Profile - Network Settings and click Remove Device
  • Close the music app
  • Go to settings - Account - Media & Purchases and Sign Out
  • Go to Settings - Apps - Music - Toggling Apple Music on or off here seems to help not sure which
  • Start the Music app and go to the Profile icon
  • You should be prompted to sign in to Media & Purchases
  • Close the Music app again
  • Go to Settings - Apps - Music
  • The elusive Sync Music toggle option is now there - hooray! Turn it on!
  • When prompted accept that your library will be deleted and synced down from the cloud
  • Start the music app again and play!
