Photos: group exists despite deletion

I have iOS 18.3.1

I deleted a group of photos of me and another person automatically created in the Photos app, but the group is still there.

The deletion failed. Now when I select the group, I don’t even get an option to delete. Besides, I created some new groups, and they don’t show up in the main window—only in the groups window.

Photo organization help? So, I got my first iphone 2 days ago so please be easy if I am totally off base or my wording is clunky. I know that on many devices I've used photos taken by the camera and images downloaded are often accessibly from the same app, but there is often a way to just see photos taken with the camera and not have the images from say the facebook group "the good place shirt posting" show up with the rest of my pics. I don't mind that the library shows all available but is there anyway to have these things sort by default? Pics I have taken vs. pictures I've downloaded? I really don't want to have to immediately delete any meme's I save to show someone on discord or other platform that isn't directly connected to facebook. I am growing to love this phone a lot more than I thought I would or could, but the way photos and pictures are handled is driving me bonkers! Thanks, Sami

Photos of people not appearing in photo shuffle So I recently went through all my photos and named every person I could so I could use the “People” feature on the photo shuffle Lock Screen, and I gave it plenty of time to curate (several nights in a row). I then added about 10 family members and friends to my photo shuffle Lock Screen, but for some reason they never appeared. So I deleted that Lock Screen and created a new one, this time only with those ten people. As soon as I selected the people I wanted and tapped “Use featured photos”, it got stuck loading forever. I’m on an iPhone XR running iOS 17.2.1 (21C66). Any help will be much appreciated. Thank you!

Ability to group people in Apple Photos I'd love to be able to group my "people' in apple photos by family or groupings - so for example all the people belonging to a certain family grouping or organization (say work related people, or school related people).

Is this in People & Pets? I hadn't deleted a group, before, but I just tried it. (I'm hoping that group wasn't really important to me, but I see that I can create groups. I guess I'm kind of new to "Groups.") When I tapped delete, I got this:

When I hit Delete, it worked. It hasn't come back. So I guess yours is not the normal experience.

Probably the first thing to try is a Forced Re-start:

Force restart iPhone - Apple Support

This is different from a simple Power Off.

Does this fix it?
