Persistent "Iphone microphone is not available" notification on Mac

I use Logic Pro X regularly on my Mac. My iphone microphone used to automatically connect to my mac when I opened the lid which was super frustrating - after doing some research I solved this by turning off continuity camera, but now i get this microphone notification on my mac like every 20 seconds and it's driving me mad.

It seems I must pick from the lesser of two evils - either turn off continuity camera and deal with these notifications or turn it on and have to manually disconnect my iphone mic everytime I open my Mac - any suggestions please???
