How do I remove apps from the Utilities folder on iPhone?

Some apps that I use all the time are stuck in a utility folder, and I cannot find them because they’re so tiny. How can I take the app out of the utility folder and have it all by itself?

Tap on the folder to open it, then hold your finger on the icon until it wriggles, and drag it out of the folder.

There are thumb drive card that are compatible with iPhones. The SanDisk iXpand series work nicely. Be sure to get the one specifically for iPhones with a Lightning connector, as there are several models.

For the iPhone 8 you also need the (free) iXpand app from the app store. iPhones with iOS 17 and higher can mount the drive directly in the Files app.
