Is there an expiry time for an ApplePay's token? And if so what is that timeframe?

We reviewing our rules around gateway failures. We are thinking of auto approving transactions back to the merchant if the gateway is down and then retrying them after the gateway is up. This is the use case.

If the token is only good for 5 minutes we may not retry ApplePay tx after 5.

Tokens are the property of the issuer. The issuer could be the bank, Token Service Provider (TSP) or the Payment Network Operator. Any of the three can provide token services.

Merchant tokens which are widely used for subscriptions may have a finite ending or the expiration date of the card itself.
