How do I access iPhone settings after an update?

A couple months ago I downloaded another useless Apple update. Afterwards I’m forced to click on settings, then scroll down to bottom and click

on apps (which was never like that). After clicking on apps I then have to scroll all the way thru in alphabetical order to phone just to open my phone settings. This is beyond ignorant and asinine. Why does Apple continue to make changes to iPhones thru updates that are 100% not necessary and not able to be decided by the **** user??!!! Anyone know how to get phone settings easier to click on than taking minutes to get to?
