Certain websites work on iPhone but not Mac

My iMac will not display certain webpages properly that my iPhone will. I am using Safari on each device. I do not wish to download different browsers as Safari should work the same across my devices. I have cleared cache, history etc. Checked Java is enabled.

If the webpages work on my iPhone but not on my Mac then I assume it has to be a setting specific to the device?

Examples:

Urban Caravans - I cannot load the interactive 'build your van' page. All the images load on previous pages however this page just loads blank.

Apple - Images do not load when you select a specific device to look at. I can only see the text with big empty spaces between the text. Images load on the homepage however.

Hermes - site partially loads and is unresponsive thereafter. I can only click on one section which is the search bar.

Any suggestions?

Please and thank you.

The issues you're experiencing with certain websites may be due to using an outdated version of Safari on macOS Big Sur 11.7. The latest Safari version available for Big Sur is 16.6.1.However, macOS Big Sur reached its end of life on September 26, 2023, meaning it no longer receives security updates or new Safari versions. Consequently, some modern websites may not function correctly on this older software.

I am using a Mac Mini 2018 with Safari Version 18.3.1 (20620.2.4.11.6), and the websites you mentioned seem to be working fine for me. If your iPhone is newer, e.g. an iPhone 16 running the latest or a newer Safari version, it may be due to this that the mentioned websites run well there but not properly on your Mac.

Thank you. This may very well be the case. I thought my software was up to date considering it’s set to automatic. Upon checking however I’m still somehow running Big Sur 11.7.

smh.

Isn’t checking for updates the equivalent of have you tried turning it on and off again?

Thanks again. Really appreciate your time looking into this for me and your response.
