How do I remove the Epson ScanSmart icon from my Menu Bar?

I just purchased the Epson Workforce ES-50 scanner and downloaded the required Epson ScanSmart app in order to run the device with my iMac.

The scanner operates as expected, however, my problem is that I am unable to remove the annoying 'Epson icon' from my menu bar. I have:

disconnected the device,

quit the app.,

removed the app from the Dock

but the annoying icon remains in my menu bar.

I thought I could manage this in Mac System settings, but alas, I've been unable to remove the icon from the menu bar.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

FIXED IT:

To remedy the situation, I uninstalled the Epson ScanSmart app using the Epson Uninstaller app. I now use the Epson Scan 2 app to manage my new ES-50 Scanner. (I already had the Epson Scan 2 app installed onto my iMac as I use it with my other scanner - the Epson V600 flatbed). Fortunately, the Epson Scan 2 app does NOT put an icon in the Menu Bar.

When I uninstalled the ScanSmart app. the icon disappeared from the Menu Bar.

There may be other fixes, but this worked for me.

I post this fix just in case someone else runs into the same situation. Your mileage may vary, but it works for me.

I'm puzzled that this could not be managed within System Settings>Control Center.

This may be something Apple technicians could look into.
