Recycling my out-of-date iMac
I just purchased a new iMac to replace my 2015 iMac and want to know if I can send it back to Apple for recycling? And what is the best way to erase all data on the hard drive?

Apple make this easy. There's a whole page that covers the steps, including wiping the data:
Note also that Apple offer trade in value, too, if you're buying a new system. Built off the same recycle model, but with some cash back (just don't expect too much :) )
