Question about spam in message center

Hello, I was wondering if anybody could assist me in getting rid of spam messages in the message center? They even appear when I have Safari closed. They appear to be from mac-uptodate.com, which when I try that site is a 404.

I've attached a screenshot. I do have an antivirus program running as well.

Thanks

Somewhere along the path, you were offered and accepted notifications from some website or such, and now no longer wish to receive those notifications.

Here is how to remove the notifications, and how to prevent websites from ever offering notifications again:

Stop unwanted Notifications - Apple Community

There’s no malware, no virus, and nothing wrong with your Mac. Other than notifications that you no longer want to receive, that is.

I’d use the built-in anti-malware and not the add-on apps, as the add-on third-party “security” apps typically provide negligible or no benefits over the built-in anti-malware, add noise, can add issues or problems, and can re-sell your info. (One of the better-known add-ons was fined for uploading and selling personally-identified web browsing and web purchasing history. Not because they were uploading and selling some very personal and quite possibly sensitive data, but because they didn’t disclose that transfer somewhere deep in the fine print that most of us never read.)

Third party garbage/spam I would look for some in-app or official uninstaller if your App supplies one.

if in doubt search the developers website or contact their: Support/Help/FAQ/Known issues/compatibility/updates…

Compare your results after that.

see if your Safari >Settings>Websites...associated with your " mac-uptodate.com" in Notifications & Pop up Windows to squish.

Third party AntiVirus is not recommended— it typically does nothing but add issues to the macOS and competes directly with Apple’s own built in security:
