It sounds like you have a permissions problem with the enclosing folder.

Apple provides guidance for changing the permissions for files folders and disks here: Change permissions for files, folders, or disks on Mac - Apple Support

This folder that you cannot write to, is it on your startup disk or another external drive?

Where is the duplicate file that mentioned? If you copy that file into your Documents folder can you not edit it there?

If you delete the original files/folder then the data is gone.

An Alias is simply a pointer to some other file on disk. it isn't a copy of it, or any kind of embedded reference.. more like "when you open me, really go over there ---> and get that file/folder)

If the target file/folder is gone, the alias points to a now non-existent file.

The only way the original files are coming back is via backup.

I probably deleted the original folder so only some allias folder remains, the problem is that I cannot edit those files despite the fact that I am the administrator.

"You don’t have permission to write to the folder that the file “ 311224.numbers” is in.

even trying to edit the duplicate I am getting the same answer.

Anyway thanks a lot for your help.
