Can shattered back of iPhone be fixed?

I have dropped my phone multiple times. And I’ve had it for a while now. I accidentally dropped it from below my waist and it finally shattered the back.. I have had the same case on it. I just am confused. Am I just supposed to buy a new phone instead of being able to replace the back? Or having to send it in to get it fixed is stupid. Should be able to do it at a repair shop… like any other phone can…

Your profile indicates you have an iPhone 8 Plus. If that’s the case it’s too old for Apple to provide repair services. A reputable third party repair shop would likely be able to replace the back but you would have to consider if it’s really worth it. Your iPhone 8 runs iOS 16 and is not capable of running later version. Some third party developers have announced they will no longer support iOS 16. Netflix has announced that, by the way. So you could run into apps that will no longer ruin on your iPhone 8. It’s up to you to decide whether a new iPhone is the way forward.
