I can't seem to update my email password on my Mac.

I updated my gmail password recently using a web browser. However, I've not been able to update it on the Mail app on my MacPro. My software is up to date. When I walk through the steps, I get to the "Details" button, there's no place to update my password. It says this has been configured by a profile.

Wondering (if it wasn't changed automatically when you changed it online} whether you can change the Gmail password via Safari app: In a Safari window: click Safari > Settings > Passwords

To find it: You may need to use the search-bar at the top of passwords to search for Google.

Click the small {i} button beside it to check the password

Rolling the cursor / pointer arrow / over the . . . . . . . . password should reveal it,

so you can check whether it needs changing, or has been changed automatically so it will autofill.

Click "Done" to close the passwords window
