How can I update my iPhone from iOS 15 to iOS 16?

If you have an iPhone 6s, 6s Plus, 7, 7 Plus, or SE (1st generation), you cannot update to iOS 16.

For those iPhones, iOS 15 is the end of the line. If you are already running the latest release of iOS 15, they will tell you that iOS is up to date and will not offer you updates to iOS 16 or higher.

Open settings go to general under that check for any software updates are available or not .

if yes click on update .

If you have an iPhone 8, 8 Plus, or X, you can update to iOS 16, but no further.

if you have a later model, you can update all the way to iOS 18. (You will not be offered an intermediate stop at iOS 16.)
