Replacement battery for iPhone SE 2022

The battery charge does not last for long and drops from 100% to 25% in a matter of few minutes when using the phone for voice calls. I don’t want to recycle the SE, as I use it in addition to the iPhone 15 which I have.

Are replacement batteries for iPhone SE 2022 available in Apple Authorised Service Centres in India?

How long will it take to replace the battery? Will taking an iCloud Backup be sufficient before handing over the iPhone SE to the Authorised Service Centre?

On your iPhone, go to Settings > Battery > Battery Health and Charging, what does the percent say? If it is 80% or below, then you indeed need a battery replacement. You should have replaced the battery in your iPhone at least once by now.

If so, you should be able to get the battery replaced at an Apple Store’s Genius Bar or an Apple Authorized Service Provider. First call and make sure they have the battery in stock, so your iPhone is not sitting in the shop for a few days. Once you confirm that, the replacement process should take around an hour or so.

Yes you will want to perform an iCloud Backup before service.

Prepare your iPhone or iPad for service - Apple Support

Apple recommends turning off Apple Cash, and removing cards and passes from Apple Wallet.

Thinking along the same lines, I deleted mobile banking apps and their stored passwords. Those I restored manually after getting the phone back.

You will probably need to turn off Find My, but you should "Never give your Apple Account password, device passcode or account security details to anyone else." When I got my iPhone's battery replaced at an Apple Authorized Service Provider, I took a printout of the Support article with me just in case they tried to give me problems with this. (They didn't.)

Before I took my phone in for service, I updated one of my Mac's local backups, so that I'd have an up-to-date backup of my iCloud Photos library. (I have my Mac set to always store full-size photos.). I was not expecting anything to happen to my iCloud Photos library, but there are a lot of photos of old family photos in there and I didn't feel like taking any chances.

Once you get your iPhone back, don't forget to turn Find My on again.

I had to make an appointment, drop my iPhone off, then come back later the same day. Things went smoothly except that the service provider peeled off the screen protector. (I didn't complain about that.)

Just a note to point out that while a battery replacement normally takes 45-60 minutes or so, technicians are always busy working on other repairs.

So, you should not expect a technician to drop what they are doing to replace the battery in your phone while you wait.

Plan to drop off the phone and pick it up a few hours later. The shop will normally give you a time to return to pick up the phone.
