Getting a text SOUND through to iphone instead of vibration on Apple Watch

I have the latest iphone and an apple watch. I use the work focus mode while at work, but I want my wife’s messages to make a text sound on my iphone and not just vibrate on my apple watch. I have exhausted my efforts in searching for how to accomplish this, but it will just vibrate on my apple watch. I cannot get it to make a text sound.  I have Emergency Bypass setup, etc. Is there a way to do this?
