Having issues with Adobe Acrobat.

Adobe Acrobat is opening some files just fine but other files that I was able to open and view without issues before (i.e. last week) are now opening without most of the content visible. You might see a logo and some lines but the rest of the content is missing.

I have downloaded the most current version of Adobe Acrobat Version 2025.001.20432. I have a Mac Book Pro with Sonoma 14.7. 16 gb RAM. I know the files aren't corrupt because they open fine with the Preview.app.

Any ideas why I'm having this issue with Adobe Acrobat?

If you have not already, update Sonoma to 14.7.4 and see if that reconciles with the changes that Adobe has incorporated within the current Acrobat. Failing a miraculous fix, I would recommend contacting Adobe Support for assistance with Adobe Acrobat as it is their product.

It is unusual for PDFs that open in Preview, not to open in a current version of Adobe Acrobat.

Adobe Acrobat Pro (subscription) or the free Adobe Acrobat Reader?

I have several PDFs here from all manner of PDF creation software and randomly, they all open and display correctly in Acrobat Reader 2025.001.20432. Still, I reiterate that you should contact Adobe about this…

I tried opening different files. It seems most of my pdf's are working fine, EXCEPT pdf's from Verizon and pdf's from Bank of America. But what's really weird is that pdf's from my Bank of America checking account work fine BUT pdf's from my Bank of America credit card account do not. Not sure that really tells me anything about those files. The settings for those files aren't any different from any of the other files.

I believe the next step is contacting Verizon and asking them why their auto-generated PDFs are different for your two accounts, and why one is not compatible with the current version of Acrobat Reader. Either they know about this because other customers have contacted them, or yours will be a revelation they should quickly act upon.

How deep do you want to descend into this particular rabbit hole?

You could run a PDF validation / verification tool, for instance.

That’ll provide a hint around where the bug lurks; in Adobe, or in whatever tooling generated these PDF files.
