Apple Gen 2 Pencil repair

I have an apple pencil gen 2 for child to use on tablet for art academy. Pencil has developed issues with skipping while drawing intermittently. Can it be repaired or do I have to replace?

AFAIK, Apple does not repair their Apple Pencils. Instead, they will offer you a replacement. What that replacement will cost you will depend on a few factors:

  • The Pencil is still within the one-year hardware warranty. Note that only manufacturing defects, under this warranty, would provide for little or no cost replacement.
  • You have an active AppleCare+ plan with an associated iPad if you purchased these together.

It may be possible that this issue can be a self-repair by just replacing the Pencil's tip.
