iPhone 14 hacked or store sold me used phone

iPhone 14 purchased Feb 2 from PC Mobile. Explained in great distress and panic that I needed to purchase an IPhone. As previous Android user, I was nervous switching to iPhone once I was told how much more”safe” and user friendly it would be, I was left with no other option but to add iPhone to my name as my 2 Android phones and moms “new” iPhone were “HACKED” I believed for several months now “someone” was overriding my emails ( stopped receiving was told too many photos and needed more storage) this by 5 recognized cell and computer repair places here in Windsor. As soon as I arrived home w iPhone it was already compromised as I had no idea being new to Apple until contacts were blocked erased linked emails again compromised and I feel using my mothers gmail as my recovery email compromised her new iPhone. Today after 200 and still feeling uneasy left on hold when I contact the Apple # s , I decided to try resetting this phone. I have an open investigation w my internet provider virgin plus but I’m told as if feb 6, 2025 it takes up to 3 months to determine what is happening. I don’t have time for that. My new iPhone was even disabled from my provider as they demanded I pay 600$ bill. After calls and many breakdowns… Here I am. I know I sound crazy and I am still trying to make sense of this. Please help and I ask for patience and understanding. I am a single mom to a young boy caregiver to my palliative mother and life has kicked me down w job loss car accident and stress trying to move on with finding a new home to live in as I am unfortunately in life or death situation trying to save my house photos w slumlord and rodents. Please excuse my long message but I can’t sleep thinking all I have is this phone with my life/identity in someone else’s hands. I’d like to add, the same store says I purchased another android dec 31, 2024.

my credit and the fact I don’t need another android already had 2. Now this iPhone 14. Did they sell me a used phone? Hacked? How does this get resolved when the workers at the pc mobile refuse to help me and think I’m insane.

Troubleshooting a Carrier-Locked iPhone:

If this was locked by your Carrier, then it was likely being leased through them; yet to be paid.

Securing your iPhone:

A. About a Hacked iPhone:

Unfortunately, there is no way to determine if it has been hacked, unless you know that it has been jailbroken. And, the only way for an iPhone to have hacked is if it has been jailbroken.

B. Properly Resetting your iPhone to Factory Settings:

Having tampered with this app, then reset your iPhone to factory settings, as if you were to sell it. Go here: What to do Before you Sell, Give Away, or Trade in your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support. Perform as instructed there, including the backup creation and iCloud logout.

Secure your Accounts:

A. Verify your Devices:

Verify that all device are logged in to your account, by using this link: Check your Apple ID Device List to See where you're Signed in - Apple Support

B. Modify your Credentials:

Having been stollen, someone lily has your credentials. So, by all means, modifying them.

C. Contact Apple Support:

Being that you think your account has been hacked, perform the above, and contact Apple Support, ASAP. They'll run you through the fix.

A Returned iPhone:

I got a hunch that the iPhone may be a return that was never disassociated from the account it was originally used with. The carrier should have disassociated it from the account. They should have known better.
