What causes rapid battery drain on iPhone 13?

so, i bought this iphone in december from a friend and the battery level was at 89% (had it since 2022 but didn’t use it for long), and now (in march) the battery is at 70%. i’m genuinely thinking this is a problem of the battery itself, because i don’t even use my phone much (6 hours a day is the average, but no more than 2 of continuous usage) and i charge it once (until this month at least). the battery got bad pretty quickly, i immediately noticed that it couldn’t handle my usual tasks and im concerned. has someone got the same issue? has someone got any idea of what to think?

Apple recommends you have your iPhone battery replaced when the battery health hits 80% or below, so you are overdue. Your iPhone is designed to retain 80% of its battery health over 2 years, and now that this is your third year of use you now have a significantly degraded battery, which as you state won't be able to hold as long of a charge and run certain tasks as well. Be sure to make a reservation at your nearest Apple Store's Genius Bar or an Apple Authorized Service Provider for the battery replacement.

The phone is three years old and the battery has used its useful life and then some. The only problem is waiting to replace the battery in the phone, which you need to schedule as soon as possible.
