How do I disable audio ducking when on a call?

I am using a 14-inch M4 Pro MacBook Pro (24 GB/500 GB) running MacOS Sequoia 15.3.2. When using Discord and Ableton Live at the same time, Ableton's audio is attenuated when I or someone else speaks. Discord does not appear to share the attenuation settings that it has on Windows, whether on the web or in the app. VoiceOver Utility's audio ducking setting does not affect this. FaceTime behaves the same, but more aggressive. I feel like there should be a setting to disable this behavior system-wide because, frankly, I wouldn't want any app doing this.

Will do! In the meantime, I've found a solution that also fixes the audio interface Discord bug at the same time. For anyone that arrives upon this thread looking for a solution to either of these:

  1. Download OBS and BlackHole.
  2. Create an Aggregate Device in Audio MIDI Setup with BlackHole and your audio interface/output.
  3. Use OBS to monitor and output your mic, and select your Aggregate Device as the monitoring device under the Advanced section of OBS's Audio settings.
  4. Set Discord to use the Aggregate device as an audio input.
