Issue with Mobile Data Icon (5G/4G) While Using Uber


Hi,

When I'm using Uber, I cannot see the mobile data icon (5G). Please check the attached screenshot for your reference.


Device:13 plus

iPhone 16 Plus, iOS 18

No 5G Seen with Uber:


A. Enable Cellular:

  1. Go to: Settings
  2. Tap: Cellular so that it is green (if already enabled, disable it, then enable it).
  3. See if it is then shown.


B. 5G In-availability:

If 5G is not available in your location, then it will not be an option.

"Yes, of course. The cellular data was already on when I booked the cab and was awaiting pickup. Please note that I have already enabled the data."

Uber Restricing your Cellular Use:

Uber's not out there to get you. All you will see is the signal that is being broadcasted. If it comes down to being suspicious of Uber, you can always look into going about an investigation. Log In here: Call Uber Support. However, when in a large building such as a retail store that has a lot of metal around you Cellular service detection can be of issue, and you'd have to switch to WiFi.
