Unfortunately, iOS currently doesn't offer a built-in option to completely disable the full-screen contact posters introduced in iOS 17 and later. However, here are some workarounds to limit contact photos to thumbnail size:

1. Remove Contact Photos

- If you don't want full-screen posters, you can remove the contact photo entirely. Open the Contacts app, select the contact, tap Edit, and delete the photo.

2. Use a Blank or Neutral Image

- Replace the contact photo with a plain or neutral image. This minimizes the impact of the full-screen poster while still allowing a thumbnail to appear in the Contacts app.

3. Disable Contact Posters for Calls

- Go to Settings ➡️ Phone ➡️ Incoming Calls and select Banner instead of Full Screen. This won't remove posters entirely but will limit their appearance during calls.

4. Provide Feedback to Apple

- If this feature is important to you, consider submitting feedback to Apple. Go to 👉Apple's Feedback Page and share your request for more customization options.

Making a Thumbnail Poster Smaller:

Being already small in the poster, take a screenshot of the current poster, then add the screenshot as the poster. It will remain that size and expend to its best when you add it back. You can mummie the screenshot to be just where it is located on the screenshot you've just taken.
