Why is my Screen Time showing inaccurate YouTube usage on iPhone?

My screen time is showing a mass usage of YouTube when I am not even in the app or have it open. My mother is getting mad at me because she things I have been on it for that set amount of time but I haven’t. What is the cause of this problem? Thanks

Here are some possible reasons why your Screen Time might be inaccurately showing YouTube usage, along with steps to address it:

1. Background Activity:

- If YouTube is running in the background (e.g., playing audio or video), it could be counted as usage. Ensure the app is fully closed by swiping it away in the App Switcher.

2. Safari or Other Browsers:

- If you've accessed YouTube through Safari or another browser, even briefly, Screen Time might attribute the usage to the YouTube app. Check if any browser tabs with YouTube are still open.

3. Linked Devices:

- If you have other devices linked to your Apple ID (like an iPad or Mac), their YouTube activity might be reflected in your Screen Time. Go to Settings ➡️ Screen Time ➡️ Share Across Devices and set it OFF to isolate usage on your iPhone.

4. Check for App Extensions:

- If you have any browser extensions or third-party apps that interact with YouTube, they might be causing the issue. Disable or uninstall them to see if it resolves the problem.
