Play An Artist's Entire Catalog
A quick "is anyone else experiencing this" question:
Since forever, on the Music app there has been a way to play all of the songs from a particular artist found in Apple's vast library. In Music for iOS, one must navigate to the artist's page and tap the arrow to the right of Top Songs. This brings you to a list of ALL of the song titles Apple has for that artist, ranked by popularity. There may be 10 songs or 500+.
If you wanted to have a day listening to nothing but that artist, you could simply play the first song in the list and listen to it all in order or shuffled. One way or another this has been available since the beginning. Saying "Hey Siri, play some ZYX" would result in playing the top 12 songs. Same for tapping the play button at the top the artist page.
HOWEVER, with iOS 18 this "play all" functionality only plays the first 12 songs in the list (the Top Songs), even when I play from the list of the entire artist catalog. If I manually forward through the list it will continue on after song 13, but it will not play beyond song 12 if I start at the beginning of the list.
This is a new behavior with iOS 18 even though the UI is the same and all button taps that previously evoked the play-all still tap correctly. iOS 18.3.2, iPhone 13 Pro, Wi-Fi and cellular data, streamed not played from download. This is the only way to play the whole artist catalog without creating an impossible playlist for every artist.
