When I record a video, it changes shape and why?
When I record a video or make a call somewhere, the side is reversed, and why?

Go to Settings > Camera > Mirror Front Photos, and toggle the switch. That would explain the difference you see in a photo compared to the video.

Please follow this path,
iPhone > Settings > Camera > scroll down > Mirror Front Camera > enable will flip vertically and disabled (off) will not flip vertically

I think you are going to find you cannot do what you want. To help explain why, you may want to hold up a sign while you take a picture and video. The preview you see is like a mirror and the letters on the sign will be backwards. This is not what would be expect in a picture or video, but the preview shows it this way to make framing your shot more natural, otherwise you would have to move the camera to the right to have the image move to the left on the screen. Very awkward.
The mirror setting will only affect the photo and when turned on, a mirrored photo will have the letters on a sign reversed. That is not the way the camera took the picture, but the photo can be flipped to appear that way before it is saved. For a video, that would require every single frame of the video to be flipped while it is being recorded and not as easy as flipping a single photo or even the few shots that would make up a Live Photo.
Are you using your front facing (selfie) camera?
There's a Mirror Front Photo option in the camera settings so that the side of the photo doesn't change when taking a photo. Something similar happens when I record a video with the front camera, do you understand?
I can’t see what you’re seeing. You have to post examples of the issue. You can’t post videos here, but you can share videos on YouTube and share the link here.
I thought of that, but that doesn’t change shape. The front facing camera used to shoot 4:3, but in iOS 17.x.x it only shoots 16:9. I think that’s what they’re referring to. But I can’t be certain.
Good explanation. It’s not affected by Preserve Settings either. So once Mirror Front Camera is enabled, it stays enabled, unlike some features that revert to defaults when camera is off/closed.
Are you using the native Apple Camera app or a third party app?
Photos are recorded with a ratio of 4:3. Videos are recorded 16:9 ratio.
The mirror front camera flips the still photo vertically (left/right) after it’s taken. Are you saying your videos are being flipped vertically?
Yes, when I use the front camera, it changes, only when recording video.
yes I use apple camera but When I record a video after I go into Photos and the video is reversed. When I take a photo, it doesn't change shape, so it only changes when I record a video.
I didn't have a similar problem before, but it started now, how can I solve it?
Is what I’m describing the issue you’re having?
