can I use Atome to purchase AppleCare+ ?
I have 5 days left to add coverage for accidental damage.

I doubt you can use Atome. To be honest, I had no clue who or what Atome is, so I had to look it up and it appears to be a buy now pay later service. I have never heard of Apple using this as a valid payment method. If you choose to add an AppleCare+ Plan, you'll be directed to use the valid payment method you use on your Apple Account on your iPhone.
Since this is a user to user only forum, not Apple Support, you can reach out to Apple yourself and ask, but I wouldn't be surprised if they tell you no.
On a final note, if you have only 5 days to make a decision, do NOT delay your decision. Apple will not extend the date to buy an AppleCare+ Plan past the last day you can add one.
