iPhone not ringing on calls/sends calls directly to voicemail

I tried all the fixes that are posted… CHECK THE MUTE BUTTON … it’s just above your volume buttons on left side of the iPhone as your looking at the screen!

If your iPhone isn't ringing and calls are going straight to voicemail, check if "Do Not Disturb" (or Focus) or "Silence Unknown Callers" is enabled, or if your phone is in silent mode or experiencing network issues.

Here's a more detailed breakdown of potential causes and solutions:

1. Check for "Do Not Disturb" or Focus Mode:

  • How to check: Swipe down from the top-right corner of your screen to access Control Center. Look for the moon icon (Do Not Disturb) or a Focus icon.
  • If enabled: Disable it by tapping the icon to turn it off.
  • Focus Modes: If you're using Focus modes (like "Do Not Disturb" or "Sleep"), ensure the mode isn't set to block calls or notifications.

2. Verify Silent Mode:

  • How to check: Look for the silent switch on the side of your iPhone (it's usually a small switch near the volume buttons).
  • If enabled: Slide the switch to the other side to enable ringing.

3. Check Network Issues:

  • Airplane Mode: Ensure Airplane Mode is disabled.
  • Signal Strength: Check your cellular signal strength. If you have no or weak signal, calls might go straight to voicemail.
  • Restart iPhone: A simple restart can resolve temporary network glitches.

4. Silence Unknown Callers:

  • How to check: Go to Settings > Phone > Silence Unknown Callers.
  • If enabled: Disable it to allow calls from unknown numbers to ring.

5. Check Ringer Volume:

  • How to check: Go to Settings > Sounds and Haptics > Ringer Volume.
  • If too low: Increase the volume.

6. Check for SIM Card Issues:

  • Damaged or Loose SIM: Ensure your SIM card is properly seated and not damaged.
  • Contact your Carrier: If you suspect a SIM card issue, contact your mobile carrier.

7. Check for Bluetooth Interference:

  • Disconnected Bluetooth Devices: Ensure any Bluetooth devices (headphones, car stereo) are disconnected or not taking over call audio.

8. Check for Recent App or Update Issues:

  • Review Recent Apps: Check if any recently installed apps or updates could be interfering with call notifications.
  • Update iOS: Ensure your iPhone is running the latest version of iOS.
