What is the practical use of Reachability on iPhone?

Hello, there.

I’m trying the reachability feature on my iPhone and I can bring the top of the screen into reach. I just don’t understand the purpose of this since nothing appears on that empty area. Can you give me examples of practical use of this feature, please?

You are supposed to see nothing in that space. The feature is simply designed to bring buttons at the very top of the page, in your case, a good example would be the search function, down so they’re more reachable.

You’re focusing on the wrong thing. Don’t focus on the empty space. But rather focus on the fact that the top contents of the page are several inches closer to your fingers than they were a second ago.

Hello!

Let’s say you’re holding your device with one hand, and you’re too lazy to physically move your hand upwards to reach the top of the screen (like I sometimes am) or you can’t due to a physical handicap, Reachability allows you to, with a quick swipe, bring the top of the screen down, within reach.

So the black empty space shouldn’t be filled with anything. The sole purpose of this feature is to move whatever’s at the very top of your screen downwards, and within reach, hence the name Reachability.

Have a great day!

Hey! Thanks for your reply, but I’m still not sure about the usage of this feature.

When I’m down on a page reading an article, for instance, I touch the time on the top left of the screen and it instantly goes to the top of the page.

When it comes to reachability, what I get is an empty space. How can that be useful? What am I supposed to see in that space?
