Can’t shut down my ipad
I tried holding down the side button and the volume button on top but it’s not working

You can turn-off (i.e., shut down) your iPad from settings - or using the Top (Sleep/Wake) button...
From iPad settings:
Settings > General > Shut Down
Shuting down using the Top button is equally straightforward. Simply press-and-hold the Top button until the down-slider appears on the iPad screen. When you see the slider, release the Top button, and slide with your finger.
