Lost phone, definitely had full battery but not shown as findable and when I select mark as lost it is pending. phone lost on a motorway. Why is my phone not finable/no location and why is it pending - mark as lost?

It is likely because the iPhone does not have a connection, either WiFi or cellular, and is offline. Once it connects to a network, it should be findable with location. When it does connect, it will also be marked as lost.

Why is my phone not finable/no location
The phone is Offline because of one or more of the following reasons:
Nothing is going to happen until the phone has a good Internet connection.
Unfortunately, there is not really anything that you can do about this except check a few times each day to see if the status of the phone has changed.
Pending - Mark as lost
