Why are some Emojis in my history now only adding to the emoji search bar rather than into my text

A few weeks ago, I noticed a few of the emojis in my history (iPhone 16 pro max) are slightly larger than normal, and when I tap on those to add them to whatever I am typing, rather than going into the text, it goes into a Search Bar above my emoji list.

This is SUPER annoying. I want to use the emoji I tapped on in whatever I am typing. I don't want to search for it. I mean, come on, it's RIGHT THERE for me to use, why would I search for it???

Anyone have a way to fix this?
