Ookla Speedtest app has stopped working

Since I updated to Sequoia, my M1 mini won't run the Ookla Speedtest app. The app starts but apparently can't connect to the network because it just sits there "Finding Provider".

I deleted and reinstalled the app. Still didn't work.

I rebooted the machine and it worked again, but now a couple days later, it's stopped again. I've never had this problem before. I thought it might have been this stupid Focus mode, but I shut that off and again, no luck.

I can use the web app, but I'd rather use the mac app.

Anyone have a clue what's going on with this? I can't reboot every time I want to check my ISP speed.

Has it got something to do with permissions? Why would it work after rebooting but spontaneously stop?

All other app work fine.

Mac mini, macOS 15.3

Ookla Speedtest App works fine for me on 15.3.2 Sequoia. I did see this prompt but it was working regardless.

Check Settings -> Privacy & Security -> Local Network and enable Speedtest.

Could also be a network issue reaching your Ookla nearest test site. Could be a DNS issue or network outage outside your Internet provider.

FWIW, according to the App Store it hasn't been updated for two years. That may have something to do with it.

I have done that. There's no support aside from the usual useless Help stuff. No emails at all, no chat, nothing.

Yes, I saw that. But why? What could possibly be different or better about the app? Either way, you need to connect to Ookla's server to run the speed test.
