Try pressing volume up, volume down and hold down the power button until you see the apple logo. You must do this quickly and don't let go of the power button until you see the apple logo.

If your ipad has a home button then hold the home button and power button at the same time until you see the apple logo.

Find something really thin but sturdy like a toothpick or some small tweezers and stick it in the charging port cleaning out any dirt, debris or lint. In case it is not charging because the charging port is obstructed. You can check by looking in the port with a flashlight before trying to find a tool to clean it.

If it doesn't work and your sure you did it correctly you could just need a new battery or a new charging port. Worst case your backlight has gone out or you have a short circuit on your motherboard (the large computer chip inside your device) and will probably need a new iPad.

Hope one of these things works for you!
