2 step verification not working with youtube after getting new iphone 16

I just traded my iPhone in for a new 16 and ever since during the two step Google verification process I get the code and it says to open a YouTube app and the app doesn’t have anything prompting me for the code. On my old iPhone 13 during the two-step verification, I would get the two digit numerical code and right away that YouTube app would open automatically asking me to click. Yes this is me and then it would ask me to enter the code. I tried deleting the YouTube app and reinstalling it but no change. I am logged in with the same youtube username as my google account. I can't set up my email or access the google account and if I get verification during other things it pushes it to youtube but I never get the code. I was able to go into one account and stop the 2 factor auth but that didn't help. The other gmail account I can't get into at all on any device b/c I can't get past the youtube auth code. Some asked this question prior and not good response - And I can't find any support on this via google or even any way to contact google support. Does anyone know of a solution to this???? Thanks.
