Your iPhone 6 may be "new" to you, but it is hardly a new phone. Apple introduced it about ten and a half years ago. iOS 13 is not "new", either. It came out in September 2019. The current version of iOS is iOS 18. But your iPhone 6 lacks even the necessary hardware to run iOS 13. Which means that the iPhone 6 stopped receiving major iOS updates about five and a half years ago. There will be no more major version updates for that phone.

If you bought this phone second-hand, recently, and whoever sold this phone to you told you that it was a "new" phone, or that it could run a "new" version of iOS, they misled you. Badly.

The oldest phone in Apple's current lineup is the iPhone 15, introduced about a year and a half ago. That phone has six times as much RAM as your phone, and a faster, more modern processor. That is why it can run iOS 18 – while your phone cannot update past iOS 12. The latest phones are the iPhone 16-series ones – which support both iOS 18 and Apple Intelligence.
