How to customize Apple Watch notifications and retain iPhone notification sounds?

I am finding it so frustrating! I bought an apple watch a little while ago, and the fact that if I am wearing my watch the iPhone doesn't send or record the notification has meant I have missed many!

The watch is to quiet! Also I get so many notifications on my phone I have them set to different sounds depending the app, so I can tell if its an important one or not! with only one sound for a notification on the watch I ended up looking at it all the time! SO I have now just stopped wearing the watch. Having looked at many forums to see if there is a work around there are a huge amount people out there with the same problem! who also seem to have no answer other than just not wearing the watch! which clearly means thats many people who will not re buy a newer version!

Does any one here know of a work around pleeeeease!!??
