iOS 17 is not supported on iPhone X.
An iPhone X is limited to iOS 16, and newer iOS versions are not supported.
To get to iOS 17 and particularly iOS 18, you will need an iPhone XR, iPhone XS, iPhone SE 2nd, or newer.
But best acquire an iPhone 11, or iPhone SE 2nd, or later, as those can run current iOS 26. iPhone X cannot.
Time to replace thus iPhone X with a newer or new iPhone.
