Copy Paste Character Limit Bug

There seems to be a limit to the number of characters that is supported by copy/paste. This seems relatively new, as it worked correctly several months ago.

I used to copy the text of Apple News articles and paste into the Notes app or MS Word documents. I was able to do this regardless of the amount of text copied... now, the copy/paste is truncated to about the first 1000 characters.

This issue happens across all my devices: my Macbook M1 MacOS 15.3.1, and my iPad and iPhone iOS 18.3.2.

I contacted Apple Support and they said they were unaware of this problem and suggested I submit a feedback to Apple to report the bug. There appears to be only one other report of this in the iPad support community discussion group, that was created several months ago, and no one has replied as of yet.

Is anyone else having this problem?

It would not surprise me if this is to prevent being able to easily copy a full news article and is a form of DRM (Digital Rights Management.....publisher rights & control, not user/customer rights) as part of the copyright restrictions. It also would not surprise that Apple developer's implemented this on purpose and the public facing support people are totally unaware of the change.

Or it could be a bug. You can provide Apple with product feedback here:
