How do I reset a MacBook Air to factory settings without the 'Reset' button in System Settings?

I would like to reset my laptop back to factory settings so I can give it to another family member. However, the directions say to go to system settings and scroll down to reset to factory settings but there is no such content. Can you help me with resetting my laptop. It is an mac OS monterey version 12.7.6. core intel i5. Thank you.
