Custom wallpaper color shows as white on my Mac mini after macOS 15.4 update

I have a custom color for my wallpaper. After updating to Mac OS 15.4 any custom wallpaper color shows as white. I can choose a photo. I can choose a custom color. Those work. But if I choose a custom color, white. How does such an obvious bug make it through your quality assurance and beta without being fixed?

Got around it by cheating a bit. My custom color was just a gray tint with RGB values of 153, 153, 153. So I created a 10x10 pixel, 16 bit PNG image and put it in my user account Pictures folder. Chose that as my wallpaper and it's back to "normal".

Good question. I just ran across that myself.

I always use a gray background that matches the gray of my GraphicLite color viewing booth. When the 15.4 update was done, it came back to a stark white screen.

Playing around in settings, I got the same results you did. Pictures, fine. Any of the 19 default colors, fine. Any custom color, white, no matter what you choose.

Verified it was the OS by creating a new account and the same thing happened there.
