iPhone charges to 80% then drops whilst still on charge

iPhone 15 pro max fully updated
UGreen magsafe wireless charger standby compliant

I have my phone set to charge to only 80% and that's what I want. The problem is that for the last month or so I have been waking up with only 60% charge, my phone still on standby night clock mode (indicating the phone knows its still attached to the charger) but when I pick up the phone it's on a charge level between 60 and 70.

Removing the phone from the charger and putting it back instantly starts charging again.

This never used to be a problem and worked fine for over a year.

Any ideas why this may have happened?

Image here shows a day with a small drop but show the phone 'being on charge' all night even though that night it experienced many time when the screen was dark (not showing standby clock) until tapped and the charge didn't start climbing until I removed and replaced the phone on the charger.

I have tried with a new belkin charger with the same Results. Any ideas?
