How to reset Beats Studio Buds when LED turns off prematurely?

When I try to hold the button in my case to reset my earbuds, the LED on the front turns off after 3 seconds. I tried holding it for the 15 anyways, but nothing happens. This is frustrating because I had to replace the right bud and am trying to connect it to my original pair. Please help asap
