Epson Scan not working with new iMac and Sequoia 15.3.2

I bought a new iMac as the old one - still working fine :( could not update further than Catalina 10.15.7. I have managed to transfer everything. However I am stuk with the scan options of Epson Workforce 7710. The printing works fine, I have updated everything from Epson I could, however if I click on the Epson Scan2 icon, it does not open the scan function. Also on Image Capture - the other option - I receive the message "Failed to open a connection to the device (-21345)". I have checked under Privacy & Security the Local Network settings - everything is toggled on. I was used to print / scan wireless. The only suggestion I see is to connect the printer by cable to the iMac - however I don't see why this would solve the scanning issues, as the printer works fine. Any solutions?

I have finally fixed the problem!!! Thank you everyone for your feedback.

I have connected the Mac with a cable to the Epson printer, and managed to scan. However, as soon as I removed the cable, immediately the same error message "Failed to open bla bla" returned. So I decided to give up and use my phone to scan.

However, this evening I was printing something and in the Print Centre, I saw the "i" button in the top right corner (see picture below). I clicked on the i, and got this screen below. There I clicked on the "Show Printer Web Page". I had to allow opening this page (lots of warnings that it was unsafe) and came into a new Epson page. With the option "Scan/ Copy" - and there I unclicked the "Epson Scan" an clicked "Airprint" (as one of you mentioned in your help suggestions). See second picture.

And I could not believe is, but the Scanning now works!!!! I am so happy. Spent probably 6 hours of my life fixing this but it works. Now have to figure out how this iCapture scanning works.

Thanks for trying to help, I really appreciate this!

You need to visit the official Epson site for the Workforce WF-7710 and get the Drivers and Utility Combo package for macOS 15.* installer released in Jan 2025. Whatever you reused from macOS Catalina will not be compatible with macOS Sequoia v15.3.

Alternatively, the WF-7710 is supported when networked by Apple's built-in AirPrint and would not require Epson software or drivers. Do not connect a USB cable to the device when using AirPrint. Scanning via AirPrint would be done with Apple's Image Capture. The scanner for this device is also supported without vendor drivers by the optional cost (free trial) VueScan Professional.

Once the above is installed, don't forget to Reset the printer and scanner components so they recognize the new installation.

That model, Epson Workforce 7710, is AirPrint compatible and all you need to do is get it connected to your LAN and then try connecting with your Mac.

Go to the System/Printers & Scanners settings pane and remove the Epson from the list. Then add it back using wireless or AirPrint as the connection method.

If you model has a screen like mine does you'll need to go to Settings ➙ WiFi and connect to your local area network by name.

Thank you for your reply! I have removed all Epson data on the iMac and removed the WF7710 from the Print Centre. Then re-installed all the latest software (which I had already done before - but just did everything from scratch). Followed all the steps - printing works fine, but the "old" Scan function still does not want to open - nor does Image Capture work.

The Epson Low Ink Reminder works, the Software Updater (I've done an Update). And the Event Manager as well - this gives an error message. See below.

However I seem to be able to select a scanner so will try to read the Epson Guide if perhaps I have to change something.... Thank you for trying to help.
