Hearing Aid issue for older people
An issue with some of us as we get older is that our ear canals get wider. I have this problem so I can’t get a seal using the silicone tips even using the largest ones available. I’ve tried using the foam versions from Comply but they don’t really work for me. I’ve tried all the methods to fit them into my ears but to no avail because fundamentally my ear holes are just too big!
I know I have moderate hearing loss and was really hoping I could use the AirPods as an alternative to my usual prescription aids but when I’ve tried to do the hearing test I hit the same issue I always do when trying to set them up: lack of proper seal. In the context of using them as hearing aids this means the results aren’t great. It seems I’m not going to be able to unless Apple releases some much larger tips, which is a shame because I’m in exactly the demographic who would most benefit.
so, has anybody had any success with aftermarket alternative silicone tips for people with extra large ears canals?
