I just bought a new iphone 16 pro max and intend to trade in my old 12 pro max i reset and erased my old phone but it says its locked to owner, what do i do?

Well, the phone was not reset if it says "locked to owner" Please try again using these instructions:

If "locked to owner" still appears, you are not using the correct Apple ID and/or Apple ID Password.
