Microphone Dictation issues with 18.4 Ipad Pro

Since 18.4 my microphone will seem to stop working for dictation but works fine for facetime or teams calls.... unless I reboot, it does not seem to matter if it imessages, teams etc. I can hear the little "ding" when I click on the microphone button... however nothing will dictate, however if I put my airpods pro on then it will pick up even when I have it set to my iphone it is like it does not release from the Ipad even with the airpods back in their case.... A reboot always works for a while then it stops however as I mentioned it will keep working on Facetime or teams calls without the reboot. Not sure where to go with this???
