Force iPad to load full Gmail site

Does anyone know a way on the iPad on Safari (not using the mail app) to get the iPad to default to the full web version of Gmail? It alway defaults to mobile and over the last couple of days the mobile gmail won't even load up! The iPad seems fully capable of successfully using the full site.

Open gmail. Look for the third button from the top left of the screen - next to the two arrow buttons. It looks like a blank screen with some writing on the left of it. Click on this. That will get rid of the side bar and gmail will be in full screen as it will the next time you open it. Hope that works!

Now you're responding over 4, count 'em, 4 years later with another unhelpful reply.

Things have changed with iPads in 7years, with mobile versus desktop website issues.

Did you really feel a strong need to reply to a 7 year old posting?

Besides, this post WAS marked solved a loooong time, ago!

The selection of whether you get a mobile or full site is done by the server.
The server is detecting your iPad and serving the mobile site.
Only way around it is to search for a go to full version button or setting on gmail.

at the very bottom of the screen you should see a "desktop" button.. click that and it works as it would on a MacBook/PC..
