2 photos missing from my shared album all of a sudden

I have one shared iPhone photo album where I upload one photo of my kid every day since his birth. I've done this for over 4 years, checking the photo count against an app that tracks days since his birth to ensure I don’t miss any.

Until yesterday, everything matched: 1675 photos and 1675 days. Today, after I upload the photo, the album shows 1674 photos, but 1676 days have passed. I reviewed the album and found missing photos for March 20, 2022, and September 17, 2024.

The album is shared with family, but only I can upload, and I’m certain I didn’t delete any photos. Does anyone know what might have happened, and is there any way to retrive those 2 photos?

The photos may not have been uploaded, when you tried to share them, if there has been a problem with iCloud on that day.

Do you still have the photos in your Photos Library on the iPhone? When you share a photo to a shared album, only a smaller, optimized copy is shared and the original remains in your library. Try to find the photos in the library for the two days you mentioned and share them again.
